Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
In short: everything you write in DaySaga is saved only on your own phone or computer, inside your browser. It isn’t sent to us, and we can’t read it.
We don’t use ads, analytics, or tracking cookies.
Who we are
DaySaga is a personal diary and habit tracker, made and run by Eshwar Thota, based in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use DaySaga at daysaga.in. It is written to follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What DaySaga saves, and where
When you sign up and use DaySaga, the app saves this on your device only (in your browser’s storage):
- Your account: username, email address, and your password, which is stored only in a scrambled form (a salted hash), never as you typed it.
- What you write and track: diary pages, notes, ideas, decisions, to-do lists, moods and feelings, health, money and habit entries, Photo memories and their stories, and your weekly stories.
- Your settings: your name, occupation, theme, fonts, and similar choices.
- When you confirmed you are 18 or older and agreed to these terms, kept as a record of your consent.
None of this is sent to us or stored on our servers. That also means we can’t see it, recover it, or reset your password. If your browser’s data is cleared, or you lose your device, your diary is gone unless you have a backup (see “Your data” in the app).
What we do receive
- Website visits. DaySaga is hosted by Cloudflare. When you open daysaga.in, your device connects to Cloudflare’s servers, which see standard technical details: your IP address, browser type, and the pages and files requested. Cloudflare uses this to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, under its own privacy policy. We don’t add analytics or tracking on top.
- Emails you send us. If you write to support@daysaga.in or privacy@daysaga.in, we receive your email address and message, through Google Workspace. We use them only to reply, and keep them only as long as needed to help you.
Speaking instead of typing
“Log your day” lets you speak a line. When you tap Speak, your browser’s own speech recognition turns your voice into text: in Safari this is done by Apple, and in Chrome by Google, under their privacy policies. The microphone is used only while you’re speaking, and only after you tap Speak. If you’d rather not, just type.
Cookies
DaySaga doesn’t use cookies. It uses your browser’s storage only to keep your diary and settings on your device. The app’s fonts are hosted with the app, so no other website is contacted while you use it.
Files you download
Backups and reports you download are saved wherever you choose. They can contain your diary, so keep them somewhere safe and share them with care.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- See your data: everything is in the app. You can also download it any time from Your data → Backup or Your report.
- Correct it: edit or remove any entry, and change your profile, whenever you like.
- Erase it: Delete my account (in Profile or Your data) removes your account and everything in it from this device straight away. Clearing your browser’s data for daysaga.in does the same.
- Withdraw consent: stop using DaySaga and delete your account at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing.
- Raise a concern: write to our Grievance Officer (below). If you aren’t satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Age
DaySaga is for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please don’t use it. Indian law needs a parent’s verifiable consent for younger users, and we don’t offer that yet.
Keeping your data safe
Your diary is as safe as the device it’s on, so please use a screen lock. The site is served only over HTTPS, with strict browser security rules, and passwords are never stored as you typed them. Anyone who can open your device’s browser could still read the data saved there, so don’t leave your device unlocked with others.
Changes to this policy
We plan to add an optional way to sync your diary between devices. If we do, we’ll update this policy and ask you first, before anything leaves your device. When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
